As I began reading this book, I was once again reminded why I love Max Lucado as an author. His style of writing is easy to read and captivating as he clearly makes his point.
The book helped me to identify thought patterns I had not previously recognized as fear. The most significant discovery was of the "fifth sparrow" syndrome. I have been one. They are among us and around us all the time.
I was pleased to discover there are discussion questions at the end of the book that coincide each chapter, making this excellent material for small group situations.

This is a good addition to any library. Great collection of inspiring stories from ordinary people who found the "extra" deep within. This book is full of awesome quotes from many sources.
I am glad I read the book otherwise I would most likely have never heard of many of these people or their motivational greatness.
If you are looking for a book of illustrations and quotes..this is a good one to consider. I am impressed with the enormous amount of research that was required to put together this book. Where did they find this stuff?

Don’t you love those three words? What good is a map without knowing your current location? How else can we know which direction leads to our destination? This book identified very clearly where I stand in relation to what I profess to believe.
Normally I could have read this book in a couple of hours, yet it took me three weeks…because of the questions I needed to ask myself. Reading this book has totally transformed my perspective about the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Thank you, Richard Stearns for the “reality check”…Thank you, God for the revelation.
What do I believe about the Gospel? Am I a true follower of Jesus Christ or merely a professing Christian? How could I not see or understand this before? What have I been given? What does God expect of me? What am I going to do about it?
Not only does this book reveal the gaping hole, but also offers the solution for closing it. I recommend it to anyone brave enough to ask themselves the tough but necessary questions and willing enough to run with the answers and change the world.
